Stop (Draft) Sununu

by: Dean Barker

'Aint gonna happen. He's  not interested in helping that party he refused to identify himself with for the past year.

And if this cryptica leans where it looks like it's leaning, we'll be calling him the K Street Sprinter before too long:

As for where his family will reside, Sununu said he and his wife, Kitty, will not take their three children out of their Virginia schools in mid-year.

"Our home is in Waterville Valley, New Hampshire," he said, "But I also can't tell you who I may be working for."

And another shot across the bow from the party of personal responsibility:
"...the strength of Obama nationally and the economic climate were among the biggest factors in this race and other races around the country."

p.s. He may have lost, but he definitely has the knack for picking up on the latest GOP nonsense talking point:

"It hasn't fundamentally changed the fact that New Hampshire is a center-right state"
Uh-huh.  Because that was so reflected in the past two elections.

You might keep in mind that the people you might want to influence (0.00 / 0)
do not get irony.

"Do-nothing" Sununu may well think that "sprinter" is a compliment.

K Street doesn't need more Republicans (0.00 / 0)
They're looking for Democrats. Elections have consequences.

All the talk about Sununu pere et fils leading the state and national GOP won't help John E. burnish his bi-partisan resume.

He will be working for Daddy (0.00 / 0)
. . . lobbying for the human rights-deficient government of Azerbaijan.

And, like Daddy, John E. will make big bucks whoring himself out to the highest illicit bidder.

There isn't REALLY a draft Sununu movement (0.00 / 0)
Is there?

"That's right, Christie. Keep telling yourself that." (4.00 / 2)
Or, Earth to John, come back to reality.

Jeanne Shaheen led in the polls from the day she announced, when we did not know who the presidential nominee was going to be, and when the economy was not a major issue.  His support for Bush over the last 8 years, his anti-environmental record, his admonishment to "stop complaining about health care", his voting to give himself pay raises while refusing to vote for minium wage increases, the failure of his office to do constituent services well, his not showing up in New Hampshire until the election cycle, his failure to call for accountability, his fishing trip with Ted Stevens, his refusal to demand an open and complete investigation into phone jamming  - well, there is more, but you get the point.

"When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on."  Franklin D. Roosevelt

"Center-right" is a poor Conventional Wisdom description of the nation too. Ask the voters. (0.00 / 0)
Al Gore got 500,000 more votes than George W. Bush in 2000.

Bush got 3 million more votes than John Kerry in 2004.

Barack Obama got 8.5 million more votes than John McCain in 2008, and 53% of the total vote.  Nobody has had that high a percentage since 1988.  Nobody has had that big a raw vote margin since 1972.
