Technically, she is correct. Both teams were underdogs. The Sox just weren't underdogs this year (or last year).

What I find really disgusting is that while ball games are an indigenous American pass time, that teach indispensable lessons about the importance of time, correct sequence and following the rules, these are lessons which the McCain campaign not only disregards but intentionally violates.

So, even Palin's reference to baseball is basically deceptive--giving the impression that the fans are more important than the team.

On the other hand, it's unlikely that most Joe Six-Packs do email, much less click on YouTube videos.  

The McCain campaign is still succeeding in dominating the news cycle with one outrageous story after another.

Hannah, I must take you to (a gentle) task for this comment. I am a real Joe Six-Pack. I and all of my Joe Six-Pack friends do email,and we do share YouTube videos. Speaking for myself, I am a Veteran, and a retired 40+ year  Union member (though retired, I still am a full dues paying active member)in contact with other members, either active or retired members. We collectively, so called "Joe Six-Pack" people often resent a notion that we are not "with it". You would be surprised. We are active and progressive DEMOCRATS. We all read this blog on a daily basis and we all thank everybody that contributes to it. Barack/Joe '08!

She may suck up to us by mentioning a nearby baseball team.

But she didn't call us a "pro-America" state, like North Carolina:

Palin also made a point of mentioning that she loved to visit the "pro-America" areas of the country, of which North Carolina is one. No word on which states she views as unpatriotic.
