Elizabeth Edwards: Role Model

by: Mike Hoefer

Wed Apr 02, 2008 at 07:00:00 AM EDT

Just thrilled to see this sort of stuff coming from Elizabeth Edwards on John McCain

I am not confused about your reputation: you are the straight-talker, you like to say. This is about health care, Senator McCain. Doesn't the American voter deserve some straight answers to these questions? As one of those with a pre-existing condition, I sure would like some straight talk.

As they will not have to work in the Senate with McCain next year, the Edwards's are in a particularly good position to level this sort of criticism. I hope they continue to do so.

With the nomination entering the "final throes", let's keep Elizabeth's role modeling in mind. It is easy to fire off a missive regarding the latest controversy or misstep on the trail, but much harder to conceive, research and write, a thoughtful piece on why McCain will be bad for New Hampshire.

Let's honor Elizabeth by cranking up that content in the weeks ahead.

I'm with the Hoef-ington Post on this.

I love this. (0.00 / 0)
It came out of nowhere, and it's absolutely true, and utterly powerful.

Makes me really wish we had a nominee so we can see more of this.  There are many better known Dem figures out there from the great slate of candidates we had, and McMaverick will literally be fending off dozens of high profile shots like this.
