The reasonable accept taxation as a neccessary evil. What burns our ass is tax dollars being wasted or "stolen." However, it is Paul Hodes that has his finger on the pulse of a system that "is upside down."

On troops in Afghanistan, it is sweet to commit to what we all want to hear, but if you want some thought provoking policy, grounded in tangible metrics, read this. It will be interesting to hear what the President has to say tomorrow.

Annie Kuster met with key NH Veterans activists in April. It was one of her very first outreach efforts, when she was still considering a run. She has been on the ground, listening and working hard to earn support, ever since. What she has accomplishedis no small feat.

HODES REVEALS: Hundreds of New Hampshire Tax Refunds are Lost in the Mail

Nearly $300K in IRS Refund Checks have been returned to the Post Office Due to Changes of Address

Washington D.C. - Today, Congressman Paul Hodes revealed that hundreds of New Hampshire families have not received the federal tax refunds they deserve because of IRS mailing address errors.  In total, 312 New Hampshire returns totaling more than $283,000 are sitting at the Post Office waiting to be claimed.   The IRS has set up a hotline and a website designed to connect tax payers with their undelivered refunds.  
"New Hampshire taxpayers shouldn't let the tax refunds they are entitled to become lost in the mail," said Congressman Hodes. "I encourage everyone who thinks they are entitled to a tax refund and has yet to receive it to contact the IRS and receive the check you deserve."
This year, the average undelivered refund in New Hampshire is worth $911 and Granite Staters in every county are still waiting for their checks.  Below is the county-by-county breakdown of undelivered checks and their estimated value.

There are two ways that Granite Staters can claim their undelivered tax refunds.  Taxpayers who feel they were entitled to a refund that they have not yet received can go to www.irs.gov and select the Where's my Refund? feature.  For those without internet accessibility, the IRS has set up a hotline which is available at 1-800-829-1954.  All taxpayers have to do to receive their undelivered refund is update their address information with the IRS.

Nick Clemons, NH Bound? (4.00 / 1)

SAN FRANCISCO - San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom, who propelled the debate over gay marriage but struggled to find a popular message outside the San Francisco Bay area, dropped his bid for California governor on Friday.

Clemons, Newsom's campaign manager, is a prize. He did it for Hillary in NH '08! Mad props, yo.

Who could afford such talent? Hodes? Swett? (Though she's not in) I think Annie sticks with CVO. That is a solid operative, I am repeatedly told by various sources. Plus, my bump-ins corroborate the hearsay.

Hodes is the big race. Top ops like the top of the ticket, so if there is a place in Hodesville, it must look good from Cali.

Top ops like money, too. And Swett would make a HUGE splash if she came in with a CM as skilled as Clemons. Plus, the Kuster v. Swett meme could take on the whole Obama v. Clinton dynamic that the trademeds love to wallow in.

So, the Big Dog will be at the JJ. Who will be watching the seating arrangements?

I worked with Nick on the Swett '96 race -- he ran field in the Southern Tier.  (Mike Vlacich was Dick's guy on the Seacoast.)  Am pretty sure, though, that he's long past the point of running House campaigns.  Nick will have bigger opportunities.

If Katrina runs, I have no doubt that she will put together a top notch campaign staff.  And Annie would have to be out of her mind not to put her faith in Colin.

I'll admit, from my keyboard, the potential of Clemons going to Swett was unsettling. It's pretty cozy, for me, watching Kuster build so much momentum while Swett, as Republicans say "dithers." The addition of Clemons in the rollout would be as Republicans say "shock and awe." That is my honest assessment. Hope it doesn't come back to haunt me.

If this were "fantasy politics," I would want Clemons on Hodes' team. This is a level that Clemons is suited for.

Further, the trademeds in NH would relish the chance to remind us all of past alliances. This would potentially cause some "disunity." Heaven forbid. Well, public disunity, like what you see in Manchester. Hi there, Lopez.

Kuster has excelled at building bridges across political stripes in NH. That should be no surprise, as she has been on the best side of issues important to NH, for many years. Feel free to check me on this.  So it would be an inconvenient complication, should the UL/CM start to piss in folks' coffee.
