Things Related And Not

Great post over at Dkos on Rumsfeld’s pavlovian response just hours after we watched planes hit the World Trade Center.

“best info fast. Judge whether good enough hit S.H. [Saddam Hussein] at same time. Not only UBL [Osama bin Laden].… Need to move swiftly.… Go massive. Sweep it all up. Things related and not.”

Go read it, or as the youngsters are apparently saying, this.

Dean tweeted out a link to the seminal Dean video “What I want to know” last night.

What I wanna know is how the hell we lost that election in 2004?

History will continue to reveal the enormity of the talent and treasure lost in Iraq.

On this anniversary of the invasion I wonder how history will treat us?

P.S. “Things Related and Not” Sounds eerily like the title of a Tom Clancy novel.

The 2004 election went to Bush/Cheney because the Democratic powers that be (Gebhardt & Co) weren’t about to let an up-start in and John McCain made his henchmen in the Swiftboat brigade available to go after John Kerry, who wasn’t prepared to have his strengths attacked as a weakness. Then too, there were irregularities in Ohio which Kerry refused to follow up on. The election in 2004 was stolen like the one in 2000 and all the kerfuffle over voter fraud is just an effort to disguise what Republicans have been up to. They can’t get elected being honest, so this time they gerrymandered the districts to keep their majority in the house. But, they don’t know what to do with it. The Cons want power and to get power, obstructing is enough. All things considered, obstruction is preferable to the destruction they visited on Iraq.
What needs to be made clear to the electorate is that the people who have captured the Republican party are deranged and self-destructive.
