SB 152 (Expanded Gambling) Passes

The Senate voted 16-8 Thursday to approve the bill, which would allow up to 5,000 video slots machines and up to 150 table games at one casino, presumably along the Massachusetts border.

    Money is worthless. If people have no current use for it and want to play with it, that’s their business. Putting it in slot machines and having some return to state coffers, where the money is definitely useful, is, on the whole, better than handing it over to the banksters and financiers gambling on Wall Street or stashing it overseas.

    We need to keep the dollars moving. Indeed, while the federal Treasury creates its own money, states can only collect revenue when the money moves. Recycling is good. Recycling dollars is excellent.

      Agreed. Abolish all legal restrictions on gambling. People want to give their money away for fun, go for it.

      Of course, all fraud, theft and such remain prosecutable. Only voluntary spending is legalized thereby.
