Romney/Ryan NH Pols React

(Will update as other statements are released)

NHDP Chair Raymond Buckley

Mitt Romney has picked a leader of the House Republicans who shares his commitment to putting tax breaks for the wealthiest before middle-class families. The radical Ryan budget plan, supported by Charlie Bass and Frank Guinta,  would end Medicare as we know it by turning it into a voucher system and adding thousands of dollars in health care costs to seniors, in order to pay for new tax cuts for the richest Americans.

NH Dem Gov Candidate Maggie Hassan

“Ovide Lamontagne, Kevin Smith and Paul Ryan all share the same goal of dismantling Medicare, a program which is critically important to New Hampshire’s seniors,” said Hassan. “They want to let the legislature take over Medicare and strongly support Ryan’s plan to dismantle the program.”

Senator Kelly Ayotte

New Hampshire Sen. Kelly Ayotte says Mitt Romney has made a ”fantastic choice” in picking Wisconsin Congressman Paul Ryan to be his running mate.

NH-02 Congressman Charlie Bass

We know our nation is at a crossroads and it will take real leadership, real ideas and the ability to work together to get us back on track – ideals that are embodied by the Romney-Ryan ticket.

NH-01 Candidate Carol Shea-Porter

While voting for all of the Bush era big spending, Congressman Paul Ryan tried to privatize Social Security. This Congress, he proposed to privatize Medicare, give huge tax cuts to the wealthiest, and to cut programs such as Meals on Wheels and student aid. Congressman Frank Guinta voted along with him on all the drastic budget cuts that targeted the middle class, and New Hampshire voters will reject their agenda in November.

NH-02 Candidate Ann McLane Kuster

Congressman Bass’ support for Paul Ryan’s budget plan has drawn sharp criticism from New Hampshire voters – and for good reason. His budget would end Medicare as we know it and make devastating cuts to education, research, and infrastructure while at the same time giving more tax breaks to the wealthiest Americans, oil companies, and outsourcers. That’s a plan to move our country backward, not forward.

figuring out how to plant the story, com mid-November, that a Romney-Ayotte ticket would have fared better.

Imagine Palin in 2012, if she had been considered but rejected in favor of T-Paw.  The rejected savior who conveniently never  actually faced the voters…

another four years for the Obama/Biden ticket.  Now, NH needs to put two more democrats in the house and replace the radical twins, Bass-Gunita.

A majority in the State House and the State Senate so we are able to put things back on forward progress.

The GOP also has a 24/7 TV channel and a deep fount of funding and no compunction about lying to the electorate to get what they think they should have.

Now we get to see where the American people really stand.

The Sunday Morning Talk shows should finally get interesting.

Willard and Paul are enmeshed in a fantasy that their delusions of grandeur have any connection to reality.
Of course, after 14 years in the House, this VP gig is a Hail Mary for Paul. Rob Zorban, the Democratic candidate in his district, is slated to replace him anyway. His career being suckled by the public teat is toast.
