X+X+X+X Peter Sullivan X+X+X+X

The title is my attempt at offering my crossed fingers from the Seacoast hoping for the election in Tuesday’s Special Election to return Manchester’s Peter Sullivan to the New Hampshire State Legislature.

We need his vote in Concord for marriage equality, and so many other important Democratic causes for working women and men, our senior citizens, our children, and those who are struggling in these times.

I wish I could vote for him, but I live in Portsmouth.  But if you can, you’re very lucky — so please do.  His victory will help all of New Hampshire.

Jim, we would welcome you as a Manchester Democrat!  After all, you run many a campaign here!

…and I do enjoy Manchester.  But when I worked there a few different long summer months on campaigns, I always enjoyed being able to leave in the evening and in 30 or 35 miles toward the coast be able to feel the cooler breezes of the Atlantic.

And during winter months I’d find it always just a bit warmer hereabouts.

But if we could build some giant 500 foot fans off our coast blowing the sea breeze inland about 50 miles, then we could talk!

    Congratulations, Peter!

Peter’s now the highest paid NH Legislator we have.  According to the State Constitution he’ll be paid the full salary for his shortened term:  $200, making him on a per-hourly basis more highly paid for the balance of this term than any other House or Senate member!

And all he has to do is sit in his newly assigned seat, attend a few quiet meetings on whatever committee he is assigned, and pretend he’s in “learning mode” and be quiet.

But for some reason I don’t think I just described the Peter Sullivan we all know.  He’ll earn his pay.  Go get ‘em.  Another strong voice of reason.
